Slap fest leaves radio station red-faced (The Glass House 17/8/05)

A US hip-hop radio station has been forced to stop a promotion called “Smackfest”, where women slapped each other to win cash and prizes.

State officials argued that the smackfest constituted a form of unlicensed combative sport, similar to underground boxing. Even more so now that they’ve driven it underground.

The problem was it was too much like underground boxing; now that it’s been banned, it’s exactly like underground boxing.

Interesting that the complaint was that the event was like “underground boxing” because they were fighting for concert tickets; I guess if they were fighting for a big gold belt or something, it would’ve been fine…

In response to the charge of being “like underground boxing”, bitchslapping has now gone professional…

According to the city council, the slapping competition promotes violence and makes people needlessly aggressive. The council then kneed the radio station in the balls. “See?”

The radio station agreed to pay the settlement money after the city authorities smacked them one good and proper…

Authorities have also asked the station to stop broadcasting songs like “Smack My Bitch Up”, “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and “Beat It”…

The last time I saw so many chicks slapping each other for concert tickets was waiting in line for a Robbie Williams show!

A spokesman for the hip-hop station said “Shizzle nizzle, fo real yo yo phunky phresh, aiiiit?” We’re still not clear on what his position is on the issue…

They’ve had to stop the “Smackfest” after thousands of junkies complained about misleading advertising.

They had to pay $240,000 settlement, but the station manager said, “It was worth every penny! Now, how much to see them fuck a pony?”

Now that “Smackfest” is gone, we’ll have to rely on old episodes of “Prisoner”.

Now fans of chicks slapping each other around will have to go back to watching Kill Bill.

So now “Smackfest” has been replaced with the much gentler “Strokefest”… which is turning out to be even more popular!

“I don’t want to see women hitting each other,” a city official said. “I want to see them licking each other out! “Snatchfest” – bring it on!”

After spending all that money promoting the “Smackfest” they’ve tried to re-use the signage and rename it “Smockfest” – best smock wins! The website hit-count has plummeted…
