New Horizons In Violence (N.H.I.V.) were the world's most blackly subversive mashed media terrortainment group during the War on Terror. 👉 The full 47 minute film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAwAaxYgJ4o&list=PLF0cLPYRu1tGfO3WFf9NHUp1m1Qjbv3cZ&index=11 Debuting with the Bushism-laden cult hit The World's Worst Leaders, released on the eve of the Iraq War, the masked villains making up N.H.I.V. were originally George Dubya Pussy on keyboards and occasional vocalising, and Saddama bin Laden on Chapman stick and drum machine. This lineup released the EP I Need War! in 2004, painstakingly stitched together from news footage, and unrelentingly satirising the Bush administration's War of Terror, alongside the fear campaign mounted in Australia by John Howard's government. A small tour of Melbourne venues followed, N.H.I.V.'s live music accompanied by video played on a TV to illustrate the hilarious horror their songs depicted. The line-up was expanded by the addition of axeman Osama van Halen, and the trio completed the N.H.I.V. Are Evil album in 2007, as they worked on completing a film covering their discography and the War on Terror as a whole. The film was finally premiered in Melbourne on November 20, 2007, just four days before the Australian election when Howard was tossed out, losing not just government but his own seat in the process. It's hard to say, but the release of the N.H.I.V. film may have been the deciding factor. While individual videos have been available subsequently, this is the first time since then that the full film has been publicly seen. This joke I wrote and Wil Anderson delivered on the ABC's The Glass House was almost certainly the first time MF was said on an Aussie TV show. The Glass House was known for being subversive, but even so, I was shocked when this got through the censors and made it to air. Come for the swearing, stay for the weird sweet twist. This sketch, starring Wok, Matthew and Ebony Hack, was originally censored by Channel 31 to quite rightly avoid a multinational company's branding in the first week of the station's existence. I'm taking the bold step of including the uncensored version here. This is one of several excerpts to mark the 30th anniversary of Channel 31 and Laugh You Bastards, and is dedicated to the memory of Peter and Matthew.
